Inventory Coordinator role during the past 2 years?

What can be expected for a Parts and Inventory Coordinator role during these past 2 years with COVID?

I am currently working in Finance as an Accounts Payable Administrator for a large retail company in North America, and I am trying to get into the Logistics / SCM field. I have spoken to management about my interest in joining the Logistics / SCM field and they said they are willing to speak to some of the managers on the that side to either job shadow some associates, or just to have a chat with them to see how I can get to the logistics / SCM side. I have already spoken to some analyst in those departments and they gave me an insight on what to expect, and what to look out for. In addition, my current work is WFH for the rest of the year, with eventually going back to the office 2-3 times a week.

Since I do not have any relevant experience, I have been taking online courses through Linkedin Learning to learn more about the Logistics/SCM field, and further develop my Excel, SQL, and Tableau skills.

I have also been job hunting on sites like Indeed and LinkedIn, and have actually received an interview for a Parts and Inventory Coordinator role, which is obviously not remote, and in a warehouse setting, but will pay more than what I am earning now.

My question is, should I be looking for work at other companies and most likely starting in a warehouse environment, OR should I stay with the company I am currently working for and continue to job shadow / talk with managers in regards to moving to the logistics / SCM side? Since the company I am working for now is very large and I already know some people in the department, I can maybe talk my way through management to have me on the Logistics / SCM departments.
