According to the Victorian Trade Association’s (VTA) CEO Peter Anderson, the NSW ALP senator, Tony Sheldon will attend the organisation’s State Conference 2022.

Senator Sheldon will represent the Federal Opposition at the event where he will address delegates on behalf of his party. The event will take place in less than three weeks’ time.

“Senator Sheldon joins a very strong line-up of representatives of the Commonwealth and Victorian governments and opposition parties, which means as we approach important elections at a state and federal level, policies and platforms can be clearly articulated to delegates, and questions asked and answered,” Peter says.

“The Senator is no stranger to the VTA and the transport industry,” he adds.

“Since being elected as a Labor senator in 2019, he has continued to passionately advocate for road safety, chairing or participating in numerous Senate Select Committees on rural and regional affairs and transport, road safety, and foreign affairs, defence and trade.”

Before he was elected, Senator Sheldon was the Vice-President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Secretary of the Transport Workers’ Union in NSW, and National Secretary of that same union.

“The program promises to be one of our strongest ever, with skills, training and education, industrial relations, people and safety, and technology and infrastructure all up for discussion under our conference theme of Attaining Post Pandemic Supply Chain Certainty,” Peter says.

State Conference 2022 will start on March 20 and end on March 22. It will be held at Silverwater Resort in Philip Island. Its major sponsor is TWUSUPER.
