The company I’m currently working for ships a couple hundred containers a month to various countries overseas, but I’ve noticed that the documentation process is very prone to errors. Our current process involves us sending SLI’s via email to the FF and the FF then takes that info and manually inputs into their own system to create the BL. There are usually a couple of incidents a month where the FF has a typo, causing incorrect info being sent over to our customers. Is it common in the FF industry today for SLI’s to be sent via email and manually inputted to create the BL, or have most major companies switched over to some type of portal where the SLI info is submitted online so the BL can be automatically generated. Want to find a way to mitigate the risk of manual entry errors. Thanks.
