I'm not completely sure this question fits here, but I don't know where else to ask.
Say your company sells product A. This product can be sold as a single piece, or as a batch packaged product. Let's say 5 products in one package. In our systems the sale products (=the actual product + packaging) have different article numbers so we have the different packaging components in the respective BOM lists.
However, the customers now have to order specifically either article number to get the 1-piece or 5-piece variant. While if I were the customer I'd prefer to just be able to order e.g. 6X product A and receive 1 5-piece and 1 1-piece variants. Best solution would be to have this automated as well so we don't need the back office to manually assign orders to the packaged variants.
Do any of you have a similar setup or have any ideas on how to set this up? Thanks!
