Hey everyone, I hope you guys are doing well. I’ve been at an internship at a 3PL company for a few days now, and I must say that this is completely new to me. While I am studying supply chain management as a major in college, I can’t say that I am even close to being aware of what’s going on. The facility is huge and everything seems like so much to take in. Is it normal to be lost with everything, at least initially? I’ll be shadowing a couple of managers/supervisors in various departments such as receiving, picking, packing, etc. Along with that, they mentioned that in due time I’ll be working on special projects. So far I haven't really done too much other than listen to a few managers talk about a couple of things. Shouldn't I be physically doing things? That being said, is there anything that any of you would recommend I do at this internship? Any idea what these projects might consist of, and how difficult would you say they are for someone in my position? Is there anything I can do at home that could help prepare me better for this internship?
If you could answer any of my questions, I really would appreciate it so much.
