Background: I’m 28F and I’m an operation and logistics manager for a manufacturing cosmetic company going on 3 years in august. Small company with about 15-25 people. I started this company as a coordinator with no prior experience in logistics, international freight, or supply chain management. This was my second job out of college, prior to this I was working in a sports performance facility as a facility manager.

I now report directly to my boss, who is now my manager and he is also the sales guy.

Soooo I thought I was doing pretty well until a month ago ... there was a learning curve which caused an issue. My boss is very harsh, I’m used to getting yelled at but with constructive feedback. He is very petty, passive aggressive, and tries to go for your soul. He tries to bring things up from a year ago to throw into my face, he would blame his shitty cash flow on me (even though he determines the payment terms with the client and he gives them way better payment terms to them than what our supplier is giving us. For example, supplier gives us net 30 at FOB and he would give client’s net 45 port to door shipment), and he just seems unsupportive. After the blowed up on me, he never sat me down to kind of set up a game plan. I just feel like I’m set up to failed here. I even tried to give him a call one day and said that “hey, I never exactly learned about this but I do apologize”.... his response was, “just fucking figure it out, wechat the supplier and figure it out.” He is frustrated and in a tight spot but his emotions takes over and he whips it out on his employees. Granted this isn’t an everyday thing between him and I because we don’t have too much interactions but the project managers do get this quite often and I’m not too sure if i want to work for someone that is so petty and passive aggressive.

He has a very small idea of international freight and I have explained to him several times about the port congestion. He somehow feels like our cargo should take priority over everyone else’s cargo waiting to dock or depart... I’m just tired. I’m doing a lot for this company and have my hands in most departments and I feel under appreciated. Not sure if it’s this industry or this company I’m in.. but im ready to quit without having a job lined up. Oh yeah at some point he made me cry, maybe I’m just not cut out for this industry.

In need of some advice please
