Hi guys,

I’ve been recently trying to get started into a sales career coming from more of the nonprofit and education sector with some earlier customer service and call center experience. I have a bachelors degree in international studies and minor in economics, 3.61 gpa from a state school.

Anyways, I’ve mostly been applying and had a couple interviews that unfortunately didn’t end up in an offer with SaaS companies but recently applied to CH Robinson and just had my second interview today that I think went fairly well and they said it would be the last interview and I’ll know by tomorrow. I’ve read the forums, the glassdoor and the indeed reviews, so I know it kind of has a bad reputation but is it truly THAT bad of a place to start a career in sales. The base is 42k + commission and was told year 1 to expect around 46-55k, year 2 55-70k, which is frankly quite a bit more than I’m making now, so even if it means making a lot of phone calls every day, is it truly that hard and miserable? It also starts with 18 days pto right off the bat and all the usual health benefits of course. I also kind of like that they aren’t promising the moon earnings wise right off the bat because a lot of sales positions I’ve been applying to and talking with do that which immediately makes me skeptical. Just looking for advice from anyone who’s worked there on whether I should accept it and if getting started there could lead to a good career path down the road, whether in logistics or transferring into recruiting or saas etc. I also just find logistics to be more interesting and dynamic of an industry than insurance which is one of the most prevalent sales job listings I see but I just have zero interest in and feel like I’d be miserable doing.
